Wednesday 7th April - walks **** - 1 Early prom Felixstowe 2 Woodbridge circuit – Sunny periods with cold North wind.

Walk 1.

Got up early wrapped up warm as there was still icy snow on the ground from last night and headed down to the seafront which was nice and quiet:) There was a clear sky everywhere apart from where the sun was rising but it did clear that eventually. So, Mag and I did of usual early morning circuit, past the new wicker family, up through the spa gardens up onto the cliff top which felt much colder as we got more cold wind! Then back to bed with a warming cuppa, then breakfast before doing my exercises in our backroom with the patio door open in lovely warm sunshine, it was great if you could get out of the wind with not a cloud in the sky. Mag did some gardening and then some baking before lunch.

Walk 2.

Mag was keen to head over to Notcutts garden centre in Woodbridge in search of a gunera plant but had to order two new tyres for our VW camper, could be an expensive day tomorrow! Then we head to Woodbridge, I drop Mag off at the garden centre as I continue over to Suffolk sails to have a small repair done on one of my windsurfing sails. As it is the Easter holiday I try and park by the park near the River Deben and after a couple of circuits I get lucky! I then walk back to meet Mag who as had no luck with the gunera as we walk back to have a chicken sandwich in the van with the park busy with families having a good time. We then set off on our second walk of the day across the park and railway line and down to Kyson Point which has a large group of youngsters on bikes which Mag avoids, not much social distancing there! Then back along the popular River Deben path with the tide fairly low there are a few waders including curlews and egrets with the big tide mill in the back ground! Although this is a lovely walk it is not overly relaxing with large groups walking who do little to get out of your way! Also, there is a take away coffee van and trailer right by the historic mill which does little for the area and spoils your pics, we personally can’t see the attraction on having to buy an expensive coffee everywhere you go, we say what’s wrong with a flask! Then back to the van, check out another garden centre before taking the back lanes to Felixstowe. Tomorrow is looking slightly warmer and there might be a chance to get out foiling before the cold weather returns!
